The Italian Red Cross has set up the number 45500 for sending text messages of solidarity to help people affected by the earthquake and tsunami in Japan.

You can make a donation of 2 € by sending an SMS from mobile Tim, Vodafone, Wind, 3, CoopVoce, Tiscali landline or Telecom, Infostrada, Fastweb, Tiscali and TeleTu. The contributions collected will be used to support the activities of the Japanese Red Cross assistance for people affected, in close collaboration with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and the International Committee the Red Cross.
